Third Annual Art In The High Desert – The Old Mill, August 27-29
The third annual Art in the High Desert Festival is scheduled for August 27-29, 2010 in Bend, Oregon. This festival is more than a presentation of great artwork. It is a gathering of over 110 juried artists from across the country and Canada who will exhibit and sell their original artwork. In addition to their art, each of them have personal stories, including unique aspects of their lives, that have influenced them as professional artists.
Stories Behind The Arts Just a few samples of the stories behind the art:
Ceramic artist Ken Standhardt has perfected the use of steel-tipped tools — even a kitchen can opener — to create surface patterns on his stoneware.
The “Guardians”, by Washington state artist Mary Ennes Davis, arose when her family donated to the relief effort in New York City following the September 11th tragedy.
Come visit the Art in the High Desert Festival on the banks of the Deschutes River. Meet the artists, learn more of their stories and add some new original art to your life.
